Bradford Networks Adds Support for NitroSecurity IPS
Taking immediate action to locate and isolate threats and vulnerabilities improves
network resilience, availability, and security
Concord, N.H. – November
28, 2005 – Bradford Networks, developer
of Security and Policy Enforcement Solutions for Enterprise
Networks, today announced that it has added integrated
functionality into the Bradford Campus Manager solution,
which features a plug-in application to receive alerts
from NitroSecurity’s Intrusion Prevention
System. The addition of this new functionality will integrate
the two solutions to seamlessly work together in identifying
network threats and take immediate control action on a device
at the point of access.
Deploying Bradford Campus Manager in a network not only
controls network access and ensures endpoint security compliance,
but can also take a variety of proactive control actions
to isolate ‘at-risk’ devices. The extensive identity
management database embedded in Bradford Campus Manager contains
information on each registered user and device, which includes
name, MAC address, IP address, and specific location data.
This data allows Bradford Campus Manager to disable a MAC
address at a specific port, re-assign a user’s VLAN,
or send a notification message.
NitroSecurity, a leading provider of Intrusion Prevention
System solutions, specializes in detecting and correlates
a large number of network threats and vulnerabilities within
the enterprise by inspecting network traffic and packets
inline. When the two solutions, NitroSecurity and Bradford
Networks, are combined in the network, the result is a proactive
tool to identify potential security risks and take action
to notify a user or isolate the device into a safe quarantine
area.
“Adding device support for NitroSecurity’s
IPS product line is another important step in expanding the
valuable capabilities of the Bradford Campus Manager solution,” said
Rick Leclerc, VP of Sales & Business Development
of Bradford Networks. “Most
customer network environments are made up of products from
more than one vendor. We have combined the strengths of two
leading vendors and as a result are able to provide a powerful
solution to our customers.”
Bradford Campus Manager has the ability to enforce acceptable
use and security policies within a network. The product is
designed with an open interface to be able to receive information
from IDS/ IPS products, including NitroSecurity’s IPS
products. In this case, when Nitro Security identifies a
threat, communication is established with Bradford Campus
Manager, whose role it is to enforce a policy and take the
appropriate predefined action.
