Bradford Networks' NAC Secures 1 Million Users
During Back-To-School Rush
Unique Pre-Registration Capability Reduces Demand on Help Desk Staff
By Checking Student Computers Before They Arrive on Campus
Concord, NH – September 28, 2007 – Bradford
Networks, a leading provider of comprehensive network access
control (NAC) solutions, announced today that its Campus Manager
solution secured the fall move-in of more than 1 million students
and faculty at campuses worldwide, double the number from the
previous fall.
Fueling Bradford’s impressive growth was more than
100 new customers deploying NAC for the first time plus growth
at campuses that expanded their NAC solutions to include more
students, faculty, and staff and secure new wireless deployments.
“We installed Campus Manager during
summer break and were looking forward to a better experience
than in years past,” said David Wolford, information
specialist, University of Alabama at Birmingham. “Campus
Manager exceeded all expectations and everyone, from our help
desk technicians to senior IT management, enjoyed the best
move-in weekend we’ve
ever had.”
In addition, many institutions took advantage of Bradford’s
unique pre-registration capability to reduce the load their
IT staffs during the rush. Campus Manager gives IT staff the
flexibility to secure student computers before they arrive
on campus by checking for malware, operating system updates,
and peer-to-peer software.
“This year we provided our students
the ability to register and secure their machines remotely
through Campus Manager before they set foot on campus,” said
Paul MacAnanny, Technical Services Manager, at Saint Joseph
College, West Hartford, CT. “We gave new and returning
students the opportunity to scan and remediate from home as
early as July. This allowed students to be aware of the requirements
and prepare their machines over the summer months lessening
computer set-up time and frustration on move-in weekend. Our
help desk team physically handled 60 percent fewer laptops
this year, freeing them to work other IT tasks.”
Bradford first delivered Campus Manager
in 2002 and has been a leader in providing out-of-band NAC
solutions that leverage existing network infrastructure to
enforce security policies at the edge of the network.
“Automation is fundamental to streamlining
the process of n etwork access control. Pre-registration and
self-remediation are central to our approach of providing ‘set-it-and-forget-it’ NAC
solutions,” said Mike
Gadoury, Bradford Networks founder and CEO. “Customers
are demanding solutions that protect their networks, and do
so with as little human intervention as possible.”
