Bradford Networks Exceeds 750,000 Registered Users

Network Access Control solution reaches another significant milestone

Concord, N.H. – September 1, 2005 Bradford Networks, a market leader of Security and Policy Enforcement Solutions for Enterprise Networks, today announced that Bradford Campus Manager’s install base has exceeded over 750,000 registered end user devices.

Managing, controlling, and enforcing policies on over 750,000 users worldwide is yet another example of the positive market acceptance of our flagship product, Bradford Campus Manager. The powerful features that Bradford Campus Manager delivers make it one of the most dynamic solutions of its kind in the industry.

Controlling network access at the point of connection has become an important security component in all enterprise networks. By deploying a solution that is architected on Media Access Control ( MAC) based registration, network administrators have greater control on enforcing policies. Bradford offers the same Network Access Control feature set for both wired and wireless connections, which is very important in today’s networks due to the rise in portable computing.

Network administrators rely on the control features within Bradford Campus Manager to be able to enforce network policies. Violators or ‘at risk’ users are sent to a quarantine area to isolate those devices from the production network and to provide a safe environment for remediation. Detailed user and device ‘identity information’ is kept in a relational database and multiple attributes can be used to quickly identify, locate, monitor, and control end user activity.

“The Bradford team is very pleased with the market acceptance and growth of our solution,” said Mike Gadoury, Founder and CEO of Bradford Networks. “It is exciting to see Bradford Campus Manager meet the needs of so many customers and receive such positive recognition.”

A few of the benefits that Bradford Campus Manager registration delivers:

  • The ability to control access of all users
  • Keep unwanted users off the network
  • Limit access of guests and visitors
  • Role-based VLAN assignment
  • Ability to control (turn on or off) users as required
  • Enforce network acceptable use policies
  • Understand bandwidth usage per registered user

According to Gartner, “A NAC process: evaluates the security state of a system or user as it connects to the network; monitors the security state of systems that are already connected; and implements network access and system remediation policies based on the state of the system, the threat environment and user identity.”

Bradford Campus Manager is an advanced appliance based solution that consists of 2 servers, an application server and policy control server. A host of software applications are preloaded onto each of the servers. User licenses are available in increments of 1000, which allows the product to scale from small environments to very large enterprise networks.
