30 UK Universities and Hospitals Turn To Bradford Networks For Comprehensive Network Access Control
Out-of-Band, Multi-Vendor Architecture Delivers Flexibility, Speedy Deployment
Concord, NH and London – June 26, 2007 –Bradford
Networks, a leading provider of comprehensive network access
control (NAC) solutions, announced today that it is the NAC
solution of choice for 30 United Kingdom universities and hospitals
looking for comprehensive network access security for wired,
wireless, and VPN networks.
Organizations like Southampton University Hospital NHS Trust,
Cardiff University, and University of Liverpool selected Bradford
NAC solutions, because the technology allows the organizations
to invest into a modular, future-proof solution that can scale
to meet their short and long term requirements for user access
control.
“In addition to positioning the hospital for future
growth, Bradford’s NAC Director protects us from threats
coming from unknown and unmanaged desktop and wireless devices
that can introduce viruses and other malware to our corporate
network,” said Ryan Hewitt, network manager, Southampton
University Hospital NHS Trust, a health care provider for Southampton
and South West Hampshire. “NAC Director gives us a way
to manage the endpoint compliance process, guaranteeing that
the burgeoning number of third-party devices were up to date
with virus and operating system patches and updates.”
IT personnel in the UK selected Bradford’s NAC appliances
to provide flexible access control based on multiple policies
for different users on different networks. Bradford’s
out-of-band, distributed architecture leverages existing network
infrastructures and scales easily to hundreds of thousands
of users and works in multi-vendor, multi-platform environments.
“Bradford’s ability to do different policy scans
for staff, postgraduates, and undergraduates has given us a
flexible and easy process to allow users to connect their own
devices to our networks while securing and protecting networks
at the port level,” said Chris Wooff, deputy director,
computing services department, University of Liverpool.
