Enhancing network security by controlling access to the network

Concord, N.H. – April 25, 2005 – Bradford Networks, developers of Security and Policy Enforcement Solutions for Enterprise Networks, today announced that Rowan University in New Jersey has successfully implemented our industry leading Campus Manager solution.

Like many Universities today, Rowan University was in search of a solution to gain control of user access to their campus network in both wired and wireless environments. They needed to implement a solution to provide secure registration for their population of over 9,500 students and facility, while also controlling access of visiting guests and contractors. Rowan University chose to implement Bradford’s Campus Manager, which has become highly recognized as the solution of choice for forced client authentication and registration.

With Bradford Campus Manager, every device that attempts to connect to the network must be properly authenticated before access is granted. Then, each user must successfully complete registration before they connect to one of the campus VLAN’s. The process is very user friendly and ensures only known devices and known users can access the network. If an unknown user attempts to access the network, they are not allowed and will be isolated in a registration VLAN, thus effectively limiting access to all unknown users.

Another useful feature of Campus Manager is the ability to keep client connection log records. This database gives the network administrator detailed information about who connected to the network, when and where. This easy to access information is useful to track user history in regards to network access.
