Network Sentry Enables School District to Enforce Security Policy Compliance on Employee-Owned Devices

CONCORD, NH –  Bradford Networks, the best choice for network security in evolving IT environments, today announced that Anaheim Union High School District has selected Network Sentry to secure its campus network and critical IT assets. Anaheim Union selected Network Sentry to enforce security policy compliance on employee mobile devices and to build a secure pathway for students to connect their consumer devices to the network.

The Anaheim Union High School District is comprised of 21 schools and serves more than 33,000 students and teachers – making it critical for the school district to know who and what was connecting to its network at all times. Over summer break, the school district enables staff to take home the laptops and portable devices they use during the school year. When staff returns, the devices are often out of date with respect to software and anti-virus patches. To prepare to deal with the malware that is introduced into its network when its staff returned, Anaheim Union selected Network Sentry to add a layer of security to its endpoint.

“Because our teachers and staff are able to use their mobile devices outside of our network, we needed a solution to ensure endpoint security compliance when they’re re-introduced into our network,” said Erik Greenwood, director, information systems for Anaheim Union High School District. “Network Sentry was a missing component in our security architecture, providing the visibility and control to enforce endpoint security compliance on all devices connecting to the network. We now have the control and infrastructure to better facilitate consumer devices connecting to our network.”

Network Sentry is the first network security offering that automatically identifies and profiles all devices and all users on a network, providing complete visibility and control. The network visibility afforded by Network Sentry will enable Anaheim Union to prepare for the introduction of student-owned mobile devices, tablets and laptops onto its network as well.

“The proliferation of mobile devices places an enormous amount of stress on administrators to know who and what is attempting to access their network – this is a critical first step in comprehensive network security,” said Dan Haley, CEO of Bradford Networks. “Network Sentry helps solve these network security challenges. Anaheim Union is now able to gain instant visibility of all network connections and ensure that security policies are enforced consistently across the organization.”
