Cisco Secure Ports

As a follow-up to Mike Gadoury's message last week on securing ports on Cisco 2950 switches,
we have another set of CLI commands for the Cisco 3548 and Cisco 3524 switches running IOS 12.0.

To configure port 24 as a secure port, the following commands must be sent to the switch:

enable
config terminal
interface fastEthernet 0/24
switch mode access
port security
port security maximum 120
end

Verify the port is secure with the "show port-security" command.

If a device is connected to the port when it is "secured", the switch will automatically add the MAC
address of the connected device to the secure MAC list. This will allow the device to continue to
operate on the secure port. Can anyone share any experiences of connecting a printer, PC, MAC
to a port after it has been secured?

Note: Campus Manager will NOT show the device connected to the secure port in the Device Connection View.
