Network Sentry Shared Access Tracker Shared PCs and workstations pose unique challenges in securing today’s networks. These shared devices are typically managed directly by the IT group to allow a variety of users – both known and unknown to the organization – to access network resources. But how does the organization ensure that only authorized users get on the network with these devices? And once they’re on the network, how is their level of access managed so they get to only the resources they should?

Bradford Networks’ Shared Access Tracker allows users of shared systems to be authenticated (“log in”) and provisions network access based on each user’s identity and role. Users are then able to access only the resources they should based on pre-defined business rules, preventing unauthorized access to restricted or sensitive information.

With Shared Access Tracker, shared systems are no longer susceptible to misuse by unknown users. Unauthorized users can be blocked automatically to secure the network, while alerting IT and/or Security staff of an attempted intrusion. Detailed logs of all user connections are also maintained for reporting and auditing, providing data which can be valuable in demonstrating compliance with regulatory requirements.
