Securing the network environment has never been more challenging. Not only are there growing numbers of users accessing today’s networks, they are also using a wide variety of IP-enabled devices including PCs, laptops, smartphones, and other mobile devices to do so. How does an organization ensure that only authorized users with approved devices are able to get on the network? And once allowed on the network, how is the level of access managed so that only appropriate resources are accessed?
With Bradford Networks’ Access Manager, you gain total visibility and control of all users and devices on your network to prevent unauthorized access and keep your network secure. Using your established security policies and Bradford’s policy management features, you can automate enforcement to ensure policy compliance. Access Manager registers and authenticates all users and their associated devices, monitors their activity and network usage, while enforcing role-based access policies to ensure that users access only the resources that are appropriate to their role.
Access Manager allows up to three host (endpoint) devices to be registered to authorized users on the network, and controls access to network resources based on the user’s identity and the device they are using. Additional factors such as group membership, location on the network, and time of day can also influence network access policies. Unauthorized users can be blocked automatically to secure the network, while alerting IT and/or Security staff of an attempted intrusion. Detailed logging of all user connections is maintained for reporting and auditing.
Network-wide visibility of all users and their host devices provides the capability to effectively manage and enforce network security policies. Maintaining detailed records of all this information and logs of all connection activity provides the IT organization with a wealth of data that can be used for network and security management, troubleshooting, and reporting required for regulatory compliance.
